The Program of Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, to be held on May 31 – June 17 by American University Washington College of Law’s Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, will offer 19 courses taught by world-renowned scholars and practitioners in the field of human rights.

4. Program on Law & Government Hosts Student and Alumni Reception on Capitol Hill
On April 14, the Program on Law & Government held a networking reception for JD and LL.M. students to speak with alumni in government, public interest organizations, and federal agencies. The event, held at the Rayburn House Office Building, welcomed over 200 students and alumni, including Rep. Stacey Plaskett ’94 and Rep. Gwen Graham ’88.
5. AUWCL Trial Teams Headed to National Trial Competition in Houston
The Stephen. S. Weinstein Trial Advocacy Program at American University Washington College of Law co-hosted the 2015 National Trial Competition Regional Tournament Feb. 6-8 alongside the University of Maryland and Catholic University Law School. Both trial teams from AUWCL won their final rounds and will represent the law school in the National Competition, held March 11-15 in Houston, Texas.
