American University Washington College of Law hosted the Fifth International Conference on Human Rights Education “Advancing Universal Human Rights Culture,” Dec. 4-6. This was the first time the conference was held in the Western Hemisphere.

On Nov. 25, a "Ferguson Open Forum" was held at American University Washington College of Law. Students, faculty, and staff participated in this discussion following the grand jury decision in the Michael Brown case. In addition, faculty have provided legal analysis on this topic for local, national, and international media.
