31. Over 150 Employers Attend Annual Externship Fair at AUWCL
More than 150 employers are registered to attend the annual WCL Externship Fair, to be held Jan. 21 at the law school. The Fair provides AUWCL students with the opportunity to meet with a variety of organizations seeking externs for the summer, spring, and fall semester.

On Nov. 25, a "Ferguson Open Forum" was held at American University Washington College of Law. Students, faculty, and staff participated in this discussion following the grand jury decision in the Michael Brown case. In addition, faculty have provided legal analysis on this topic for local, national, and international media.

36. Dean Presides Over 53rd Session of the UN Committee against Torture
Dean Claudio Grossman, chair of the UN Committee against Torture (UN CAT), is presiding over the Committee's 53rd session in Geneva and serving as country rapporteur for Ukraine and Australia. With the generous support of the Kovler Foundation, ten students in the law school's UN CAT Project joined him in Geneva.

The annual Dean’s Diversity Council (DDC) Program and Dinner was held Oct. 28 in the AUWCL residence. The evening gave student attendees an inside-look into working in the judicial sector.

October 27- 31 is Wellness Week at American University Washington College of Law. This weeklong initiative is coordinated by the Office of Student Affairs, and connects law students, and even faculty and staff with activities that promote healthy living.

40. Delegation Travels to New Mexico to Work at Immigration Detention Center
AUWCL sent a delegation of eight students and two faculty to New Mexico to work with detainees in the Artesia Temporary Facility for Adults with Children.
