WASHINGTON, D.C., January 6, 2014 - The Founders’ Celebration, a series of events covering diverse topics to honor the vision and principles of American University Washington College of Law’s founding mothers, kicks off its 2014 season on Jan. 13.
Founders’ Celebration 2014 will feature events, seminars, panel discussions, and experts covering a wide range of topics including corporate counterterrorism, animal law, unaccompanied children migrants, religion and reproductive rights, issues in the law of labor and employment, transforming society with law and advocacy, and more. A newly launched WCL Founders 2014 App (for Apple or Android device) will serve as a mobile guide to the 2014 Founders' Celebration. The 2013 celebration welcomed more than 1,127 distinguished speakers to the law school, with over 900 organizations represented, including governmental departments, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, U.S. and foreign law schools, law firms, and embassies. Many Founders’ Celebration events are co-sponsored by distinguished organizations such as The Hispanic National Bar Association, World Organisation Against Torture, and BakerHostetler, among others.
