American University Washington College of Law Launches Online Certificate Program in International Commercial Arbitration

WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 18, 2013 - American University Washington College of Law is pleased to announce the launch of its online certificate program, enabling learners around the world to enroll in online courses in the Online Certificate Program on International Commercial Arbitration.

"American University Washington College of Law is undertaking an exciting endeavor in online education," said Claudio Grossman, dean, American University Washington College of Law. "Our new online certificate program enhances our course offerings and expands the law school's global connections, allowing individuals to have access anytime, anywhere to AUWCL’s superb legal education."

American University Washington College of Law has partnered with the online-learning platform Desire2Learn®, using education technology tools integrated into a seamless learning experience, allowing participants to collaborate with faculty and peers around the globe. The program will provide learners with live video lectures, self-paced coursework, recordings of all live sessions, and a collaborative community of instructors and classmates available via online chats. This program provides participants with the flexibility to earn a certificate in International Commercial Arbitration from a world-renowned educational institution in Washington, D.C. while maintaining their day-to-day commitments.

Consisting of two courses, the program will provide in-depth knowledge and understanding of the key topics in the fields of commercial arbitration and its relevance in business law. The Online Certificate Program on International Commercial Arbitration will be taught by experienced practitioners, including AUWCL Distinguished Practitioner-in-Residence, Horacio Grigera-Naón, a former secretary general of the International Court of Arbitration, Professor Perry Wallace, and Adjunct Professors Björn Arp and Renata Brazil David.
