More than 150 employers are registered to attend the annual WCL Externship Fair, to be held Jan. 21 at the law school. The Fair provides AUWCL students with the opportunity to meet with a variety of organizations seeking externs for the summer, spring, and fall semester.

American University Washington College of Law hosted the Fifth International Conference on Human Rights Education “Advancing Universal Human Rights Culture,” Dec. 4-6. This was the first time the conference was held in the Western Hemisphere.

October 27- 31 is Wellness Week at American University Washington College of Law. This weeklong initiative is coordinated by the Office of Student Affairs, and connects law students, and even faculty and staff with activities that promote healthy living.

28. Time Capsules Recovered from New Campus at Tenley Opened at Ceremony with Immaculata Schools Alumnae
On Oct. 11, American University Washington College of Law and the Office of the University Architect joined the Immaculata Alumnae Association for an event to open two time capsules found on the site of the future home of the Tenley Campus during recent construction. The event was co-presented by the law school, Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, and the Yuma Study Center.

Smith ‘86, founder and president of Smith & Company a leading strategic and crisis communications firm and co-executive producer of ABC’s Scandal, as the 2014 Commencement Speaker. The law school's commencement will be held May 18, 2014, at 1 p.m. at American University's Bender Arena (4400 Massachusetts Ave., NW). Smith will be presented with an honorary doctor of laws. Smith ‘86, founder and president of Smith & Company, a leading strategic and crisis communications firm, and co-executive producer of ABC’s “Scandal,” as the 2014 Commencement Speaker. The law school's commencement was held May 18, 2014, at American University's Bender Arena.
