7th International Conference of the National Association of Judges of the Brazilian Labor Courts Hosted at American University Washington College of Law

150 Brazilian Judges will Convene to Discuss Employment Laws in the U.S. and Brazil

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C., March 19, 2013 - The Brazil-U.S. Legal and Judicial Studies Program at American University Washington College of Law and the International Judicial Academy and the National Association of Labor Law Judges of Brazil have joined efforts to organize the 7th International Conference of the National Association of Judges of the Brazilian Labor Courts (ANAMATRA).  The Brazilian judges will be at American University Washington College of Law on April 1 and April 4. 

Jeffrey Lubbers and Richard Ugelow, professors at American University Washington College of Law, will give lectures on U.S. labor and employment laws, and law students will attend a Mock Trial involving labor issues and employment discrimination at the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and play the role of Jury in the Mock Trial. The Program will also include a visit to the Federal Judicial Center and to the U.S. Court of the District of Columbia. Dean Claudio Grossman will end the conference with closing remarks.
