Conference on Employment Discrimination Will Evaluate Title VII of Civil Rights Act

Tom Perez, Assistant Attorney General, Civil Rights Division, will deliver lunch keynote address

WASHINGTON, DC, February 19, 2010 – An upcoming conference will take a look back at early enforcement of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, examine how it has been enforced by state and local governments, and review its more recent enforcement and outlook for the future. 

American University Washington College of Law will host a conference titled “Employment Discrimination: 45 Years of Enforcement of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964” on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010.

The program includes panel discussions with prominent experts in employment discrimination and civil rights, including many attorneys who spent time working in the Employment Litigation Section of the Civil Rights Division. The keynote address will be delivered by Thomas Perez, the Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Justice.

The event is presented by the Program on Law and Government.
