Professor Lewis Grossman participated in a panel presentation on “FDA Issues Affecting Healthcare Providers” at the New York State Bar Association Annual Meeting in New York City, Wednesday, Jan. 25. He presented along with I. Glenn Cohen and Holly Fernandez Lynch of Harvard Law School and Robert Klitzman of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Mailman School of Public Health.

During Wednesday’s event, attended by 250 members of the association’s Health Law Section, Professor Grossman – whose scholarly focus is on food and drug law, health law, American legal history, and civil procedure – addressed the implications of recent statutory amendments, court opinions, and the presidential election. Grossman’s forthcoming article “AIDS Activists, FDA Regulation, and the Amendment of America’s Drug Constitution,” is set to be published in the American Journal of Law and Medicine. He is currently working on a book titled Choose Your Medicine: Freedom of Therapeutic Choice in American Law and History, to be published by Oxford University Press.
