Dean Grossman with students and faculty

Starting Nov. 9, Dean Claudio Grossman, chairperson of the United Nations Committee against Torture (UN CAT), will preside over the Committee's 56th session in Geneva, Switzerland, and serve as country rapporteur for Austria. With the generous support of the Kovler Foundation, the UN CAT Project’s ten students - Alessandra Carozza, Kristin Donovan, Ben Juvelier, Alanna Kennedy, Elizabeth Leman, Amira Mikail, Rachel Mann, Andrew Mutavdzija, Dina Navar, and Mehreen Rasheed - will join him, together with UN CAT Project Coordinator Jennifer de Laurentiis, Associate Dean Lia Epperson, and Professor Susan Carle.

While in Geneva, Dean Grossman will join over 35 alumni and students at Café du Soleil to discuss job and externship possibilities, and share updates about the school’s programmatic initiatives and new Tenley Campus.

Founded in 2004, AUWCL's UN CAT Project is a one-of-a-kind experiential learning opportunity for upper-level students to deepen their knowledge of international human rights law and experience firsthand the UN CAT proceedings in Geneva, Switzerland.
