AUWCL Delegation Visits Law Schools in Asia

From May 28 – June 3, an AUWCL delegation will be in Asia to participate in academic and development visits with law schools in Korea, Japan and India. The delegation, comprised of Dean Grossman, Professors Christine Farley, Michael Carroll, and Ezra Rosser, and Office of Global Opportunities Director Theresa Kaiser, will work to expand relationships with law schools in Asia through faculty and student exchanges and other programmatic initiatives.

In Korea, the group is scheduled to meet and give presentations to the dean and faculty of the Yonsei and SKKU law schools. While in Japan, the delegation will give presentations at the Chuo University School of Law in Tokyo and Ritsumeikan in Kyoto.

The trip itinerary also includes meetings with alumni. Dean Grossman will host two alumni dinners – one in Seoul, Korea, and another in Tokyo, Japan.

The final stop for the delegation is Haryana, India where the group will visit Jindal Global Law School to explore opportunities to develop academic programs with the institution. During the visit, Dean Grossman will lead a seminar and round table discussion on Torture, International Law, and Human Rights. While in India, the Dean will meet with a group of AUWCL alumni living in the country.
