Associate Dean Jenny Roberts to Speak at National Association of Black Journalists’ Media Institute on Legal Affairs Inaugural Event

AUWCL professor and Associate Dean Jenny Roberts will be a featured speaker at the inaugural event of the National Association of Black Journalists’ Media Institute on Legal Affairs. The event will focus on criminal justice reform, and is co-sponsored by the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section, Hogan Lovells LLP, and the Campaign for Youth Justice. The theme of the Institute is “Law and Justice: Issues of Consequence; From Black Lives Matter to Voting Rights.” The event will take place at Hogan Lovells LLP, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24.

Associate Dean Roberts will be speaking in the section on Collateral Consequences of Conviction and Clemency from 1:45 to 3:00 p.m. Her fellow panelists include Christopher Nelson, NBC Universal; Gary Fields, Wall Street Journal; and James E. Felman of Kynes, Markman and Felman, P.A.

The other segments of the conference include: “Black Lives Matter: Assessing the Movement,” “21st Century Policing and Policing Reform,” Professional Development Luncheon: Youth in the Adult Criminal Justice System,” and “Voting Rights.”
