Two AUWCL Teams Successful in Regional Transactional Law Competition

Two AUWCL teams were successful in their regional rounds of the National Transactional LawMeets Drafting and Negotiation Competition.

Colleen Wellington-Caban and Jung Kim took second place and were announced as semifinalists at the Southeastern Regional held in Atlanta, Georgia.

Laura daRosa and Michael Cyganek took first place in the Mid-Atlantic Regional and advanced to the national round of the competition being held in April.

The National Transactional LawMeet is the premier “moot court” experience for students interested in a transactional practice. In the course of negotiating an asset purchase agreement for this year's competition, the teams had to conduct client conference calls, submit draft contract provisions addressing client concerns, provide markups of drafts submitted by opposing teams, and meet to negotiate the deal on the day of the competition.
