Dean Presides Over 53rd Session of the UN Committee against Torture
Ten Students Participate in the Law School’s Unique UN CAT Project
Beginning Nov. 4, Dean Claudio Grossman, chair of the UN Committee against Torture (UN CAT), is presiding over the Committee's 53rd session in Geneva and serving as country rapporteur for Ukraine and Australia.
With the generous support of the Kovler Foundation, ten students in the law school's UN CAT Project joined him in Geneva, together with UN CAT Project Coordinator Jennifer de Laurentiis, and Professors Susan Bennett and Jenny Roberts.

Founded in 2004, AUWCL's UN CAT Project is a one-of-a-kind experiential learning opportunity for upper-level students to deepen their knowledge of international human rights law and experience firsthand the UN CAT proceedings in Geneva, Switzerland.

While in Geneva, Dean Grossman and University Provost Scott Bass joined 40 alumni in Geneva for a dinner at Café du Soleil. Dean Grossman shared updates about programmatic initiatives at the law school and provided an update on the new campus at Tenley.
